If you research dead malls that are still open, chances are they lost a JCPenney in this massive closing wave that occurred in 2020. I have researched so many malls that had this happen, which led to me coining this term. I find it kind of amusing now, due to the frequency in which I run into this number '154,' and thus have dubbed it 'The Infamous 154 Store JCPenney Closing Wave.'
